Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors...and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize--one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are EIGHT contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the RED TEAM--but there is also a BLUE team, GOLD team, GREEN team, ORANGE team, TEAL team, PURPLE team, and a PIN K team for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!

If you'd like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

Directions: Below, you'll notice that I've listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the RED team, and then add them up (don't worry, you can use a calculator!).

Entry Form: Once you've added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.

Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by OCTOBER 5, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Today, I am hosting Kimberly Derting on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!

Kimberly Derting is the author of the award-winning THE BODY FINDER series, THE PLEDGE trilogy, and THE TAKING and THE REPLACED (the first two books in THE TAKING trilogy).

Her books have been translated into 15 languages, and both THE BODY FINDER and THE PLEDGE were YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults selections.

She lives in the Pacific Northwest, where the gloomy weather is ideal for writing anything dark and creepy. Her three beautiful (and often mouthy) children serve as an endless source of inspiration and frequently find the things they say buried in the pages of their mother's books, or on Twitter for the world to see.

Find out more information by checking out Kim's website or find more about Kim's book here!

I can't wait to win a book by Amy Plum. If I had a magical power, it would be Spirit Walking because I could go to different worlds and see so much.

So many authors I would love to win a book from!! This is where I usually learn about new ones I end up loving too! If I had a magical power it would be to clone myself to get done all the things I want to get done and still have time for me!

If I had magical powers it would be teleportation because I live far from my family. Not only would I be able to visit them whenever I wanted but I could go anywhere in the world and experience all the wonder. Thanks for being part of the scavenger hunt!

Hmmm, it's hard to pick one (and I am terrible with names), but I'm gonna say either Beth Revis or Aprilynne Pike. I loved Beth's Across the Universe books and the handful of Aprilynne's I've gotten my nose in.

I'd be happy to win any YA book cause I don't have many. Marie Lu sticks out though for one I'd like or Sarah J. Maas.

If I had a magical power it would be the ability to conjure anything I want or need because who doesn't want to be able to conjure up a cute new outfit, or money for rent, lol. I know, I am lazy. Lol. But it's only a dream. :)

If I had a superpower, I think I'd really like Supergirl's powers. She does a lot of good and I think she's the only superhero with a super kitty cat! :) I also hope to win a book by Ryan Graudin.

I can't wait to win a book of C.J. Redwine. If I had a magical power, it would be time travel so I can travel by night, and do all the thing that I didn't by day, like reading university's staff.

If I had a superpower, it'd be teleportation, simply so i could visit my family when I wanted, instead of when I could afford it.

If I had a magical power, it would be photographic memory because I have a hard time studying my lessons. So I could just look at my notes and then boom! I can remember it all well. Amazing!
