Before I wrote novels, I wrote manuals and online help and first drafts of stories that will never see the light of day. Long before that, I studied biology and wrote lab reports in oceanography and agricultural laboratories while scribbling my thoughts in journals and spiral binders. In between the professions of scientist and professional writer, I spent time as a Buddhist nun and devoted my mind and heart to understanding great things.
Today I live with my husband and two brilliant children and I write stories that attempt to apply those great understandings, reflect on the science I practiced, and the responsibility we all have toward this planet. And I try to have some fun adventures along the way. I aim to write stories that transform and touch hearts, open minds, and make life a bit more beautiful somehow.
