Before I wrote novels, I wrote manuals and online help and shoddy first drafts of stories that will never see the light of day. Long before then, I studied biology and wrote lab reports in oceanography and agricultural laboratories while scribbling my thoughts in journals and spiral binders. And somewhere in between the two professions of scientist and professional writer, I spent time as a Buddhist nun and devoted my mind and heart to understanding great things.
Today, I live with my awesome husband and two brilliant children, and I write stories that attempt to apply those greater understandings, as well as reflections on the privilege and responsibility humanity has toward this planet. And have some fun adventures along the way. That's my hope, anyway. I aim to write stories that transform and touch hearts, open minds, and make life a bit more beautiful somehow.
