Before I wrote novels, I wrote manuals and online help and shoddy first drafts of stories that will never see the light of day. Long before then, I studied biology and wrote lab reports in oceanography and agricultural laboratories while scribbling my thoughts in journals and spiral binders. And somewhere in between the two professions of scientist and professional writer, I spent time as a Buddhist nun and devoted my mind and heart to understanding great things.
Today, I live with my wonderful husband and two brilliant children whom I love dearly, and I write stories that attempt to promote some of those greater understandings, as well as reflections on the privilege and responsibility humanity has toward this planet. That's my hope, anyway. And some fun adventures. I hope someday to write stories that transform, touch hearts, open minds, and make life a bit more beautiful somehow.
